

Ivan Petrov PhD
Ivan Petrov PhD is a classical philologist and slavist interested in comparative and diachronic linguistic studies. A former postdoctoral researcher at the University of Vienna, he is currently a fellow of Alexander von Humboldt Foundation at the Institute of Slavistics, University of Giessen, Germany. His scholarly activities are dedicated to situating the Proto-Slavic morphological phenomena in the context of the Indo-European language family, to the reception of the early patristic texts in Old Bulgarian and New Bulgarian translation. He has specialised in a number of foreign academic institutions among which the Jagiellonian University, the University of Vienna and the University of Poitiers. He has worked as an editor of the Greek texts in numerous editions of medieval texts and their glossaries, such as Theophylact of Ohrid’s Homily on the Entry of the Most Holy Theotokos into the Temple, the Dragutin Menaion, the sermon tradition of St. John Vladimir, the hymnographic celebration of St. Alexius the Man of God etc.
