Prof. Dr. Lora Taseva
Prof. Dr. Lora Taseva, the project leader, is a palaeoslavist of international popularity. She works at the Institute of Balkan Studies and Centre of Thracology at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS). She is the author of over 130 research publications incl. two monographs and three scholarly editions (co-authored) of medieval written monuments. Most of her publications deal with the reception of Byzantine literature in the region of Slavia orthodoxa from the 9th to the 15th century and their main emphasis is on the development of translation principles and techniques during the Middle Ages. Special place in her studies is kept for the Old Bulgarian lexicology and text-related bilingual lexicography. She has been a member of the Commission for Old Slavonic Dictionaries to the International Committee of Slavists since 2018.
